Normally i don’t enter the water to shoot photo’s after october in holland because the temperature drops to low for shooting without worrying about the cold. When i’m shooting in those cold month’s i always have my water gear with me just to be sure. You never know after all.
Last weekend was such an opportunity, after asking around Jerrie van de Kop decided to head to the already famous spot “De Zandmotor” for a kite session. We started shooting in the laguna where i was standing on the beach. After a few shots we both said this isn’t going to work with this wind direction.

After a short discussion if i was going to walk around on the spot (30 to 45min walk) or was going to put on my wetsuit and shoot from the water, Jerrie decided he needed his 7m flexifoil kite. So a decision was made to head back to the car and change everything to shoot from the water. After we returned on the beach we where greeted with an nice almost clear blue sky. If it could get any better on a december day?

We made the most of the day while i was using my fins to keep moving and keeping my self warm till i was getting cold.
Very happy with the result and glad that we have decided to shoot from the water.
